Sasha Sandoval-Williams (b. Kansas City, MO, 2003) is a photographer, writer, and multi-hyphenate creative who works with themes of love, intimacy, youth, identity and loss within her portraiture and poetry. She began photography when she was very young but began taking it seriously in 2018. She is well-versed in digital and 35mm film photography, as well as experimenting with creative video and documentary projects. She is a current BFA candidate at the University of Kansas where she has also begun building a community of black artists and creatives as the founder and current president of the KU Black Creatives Collective. Beyond her community-building efforts, her work has been featured in various campus settings including the Corridor Gallery’s Summer Haze exhibition, the KU Design Department’s exhibition for the National Association of Schools of Art & Design, as well as The Black Excellence Fashion Show & Art Gala, that she hosted and curated with her art collective. Sasha is currently located in the Kansas City metro area as well as Lawrence, KS.
